Studio Policies, Session Terms & Copyright
A cash, check or credit card retainer is required to reserve a date on the studio calendar and your session date is not confirmed until the retainer payment has been received. The session fee is non-refundable. Payment for the collection of your choice is due upon ordering. No part of any order, including previews, will be delivered until the balance is paid in full. Due to the custom nature of our products, all sales are final.
Clients must inform Marseilles Photography within 48 hours of baby's birth in order to guarantee a session within the optimal 5-14 day period.
In order to keep the studio quiet and distraction free during newborn sessions, I ask that you leave older siblings and children at home. If you have booked a Newborn Family session, we will get family and sibling images taken care of at the beginning of the session. Please arrange for dad or a helper to take the children out of the studio after their portion of the session is concluded.
Only those being photographed are invited to the session. I understand new moms sometimes need a little help – please let me know ahead of time if you will be bringing a relative to the session with you who will not be in the images. At milestone and first birthday sessions I like baby to stay focused on me. Having additional spectators is not only distracting to them – but to me as the photographer as well. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
If an illness or situation prevents a photo session from taking place, Client may reschedule their session ONE time if notice is provided at least 24 hours prior to their session start time. Should client fail to give 24 hours notice, or is a no-show, all fees paid will be forfeited. Clients who arrive 30 minutes late or do not show without a call will also forfeit monies paid. Exceptions may be made for family emergencies at Debbie's discretion.
If Client fails to read the supplied prep guide, and therefore fails to carry out required preparations prior to a newborn session, Marseilles Photograhy will not be held responsible for any resulting reductions in quality or quantity of images supplied.
While Marseilles Photography regularly works with clients to deliver photographs that meet individual needs, Marseilles Photography reserves the right to exercise full artistic control over the nature, number, and types of photographs produced.
Working with babies and children offers no guarantees. Each child behaves and poses differently. Your baby's comfort and safety is always my first priority and your child will never be put in a position or pose that is uncomfortable for them. Due to the unwillingness of subjects it may not be possible to capture all the pictures requested, or images to the clients full expectations. In the event of uncooperative children at a session of any kind, for any reason, Marseilles Photography may not be able to capture any, or all the images the Client may have requested or expected. Due to the enormous amount of studio preparation and photographer time, re-shoots will not be offered without an additional fee.
Newborn and baby sessions are not family sessions. Our sessions mainly focus on your baby. I do offer a newborn session that includes a few parent shots but the majority of your newborn session will focus on your baby. Sibling shots must be discussed prior to your session. For the safety of your newborn, siblings shots with children under 3 years of age are not guaranteed. Young toddlers can be unpredictable and may or may not be interested in being photographed with your new little love. Debbie will ultimately decide if these images can be attempted safely.
Due to extremely large file sizes for digital photography, Marseilles Photography does not provide any type of archiving and/or storage of your photos. We keep your full resolution negatives on file for thirty (30) days after your photo shoot. After that, files for portfolio use are archived and the remaining files are deleted. Re-orders are subject to a $100 minimum purchase and are due within 30 days of your session.
The client indicates satisfaction by placing an order for photography products. No refunds will be given on any products after they have been ordered, including incorrectly ordered items and items ordered in error by client. Client is aware that color dyes in photography may fade or discolor over time due to the inherent qualities of dyes, and Client releases Marseilles Photography from any liability for any claims whatsoever based upon fading or discoloration due to such inherent qualities.
Any retouching beyond the basic retouching we automatically do will be charged a fee of $50 per hour. This includes braces, regrettable wardrobe choice, color changing, slimming, head swapping, wrinkle removal, bra straps, hair retouching, teeth whiting, etc.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for your product orders to be completed. Some specialty items such as custom albums may take longer. Portraits are an investment and an heirloom that should not be rushed. Client will be notified by telephone or e-mail when their order is ready. It is recommended that all orders are picked up at the studio, but if you are unable to pick up your order, we can ship your order to you for an additional charge. Marseilles Photography is not responsible for any damage incurred to a product once it leaves the Studio, including the transportation home and any shipping methods. Marseilles Photography is not responsible for and will not replace items lost or damaged during shipping, returned by the carrier or lost/stolen after delivery confirmation.
Absolutely no photographic, video, film, digital, phone, or recording devices of any kind are permitted during the session unless prior arrangement has been made between client and photographer.
A print release is included with the purchase of digital files to print portraits for personal use by client only. The print release DOES NOT allow publication of your portraits (i.e. entering contests), selling, or altering of your images without the Photographer's written permission.
Marseilles Photography's price list is subject to change at any time. Booking your session by submitting your session fee guarantees our current portrait rates. Rescheduled sessions are subject to the prices current at time of scheduling.
